Tension - Present (and not the least bit welcome)
Our house is tension filled these days. Its a combination of stress and waiting, and its making the air reek of worried nervous people. The only one not feeling it is the dog. Even Donna has stopped asking us to play quite as much (although that might be because Chief took her favourite toy and dumped it in the bathroom).
There doesn’t seem to be anyway of eliminating the tension. We have learned that my grandmother is dying, and that it will be any day now. That explains the waiting. Not to mention the emotional stress on my Mom who is about to lose her mother.
Then there’s my (and the Scot’s) wedding, where we are trying (and actually succeeding) to create and execute a wedding in 3 months, now down to just over 2 months. This means that we spend a lot of time stressed, or destressing, so I’m sure we aren’t helping the tension.
Then there’s my sister’s wedding, which in this house mostly means her dress, which is causing my mother nightmares. The small amount of it that’s done looks good - let’s just hope the rest of it does too.
Then there’s my pregnant sister-in-law, who keeps calling with worries. Kind of makes me want to adopt in the future.
So yes, there is tension, and stress, and through it all, an incredibly stupid dog that keeps barking at the wrong moment and making everyone (especially the Scot) yell. At least he’s good for tension release.
