Christmas Shopping with Mom!

Published by cepha_marie at 4:35 pm under Christmas and other Holidays Edit This

We went Christmas shopping today.  Once we’d realized mom had forgotten her wallet and dad had found it and delivered it, things were ready to go!

We spent hours browsing through calendars and board games and card games and mind games and puzzles (apparently this family likes to know the date and bond over games).  We looked through the classy versions of those stores that pop up at Christmas time and carry ornaments and nativity sets and fancy packages of yummy flavours of hot chocolate.  We both enjoyed the incredibly tacky light up presents to go under the tree!  We actually considered buying these little cardinal shaped salt and pepper shakers, but we weren’t there to buy for the house.

That said, a trip into the Bombay company store had me furnishing an entire house and I made mom laugh when I pointed to a stand-up oval mirror with a cherry frame and said “want that” while pointing.  I’m afraid we revert to childhood moments when faced with something that gorgeous.

We went from there to Ardene’s home of the cheap but cute socks, slippers and scarves, and walked into and back out of Toys R Us, and a few other big chain stores that were so crowded we decided to support small stores with small line-ups.

So things are good, we got what we went for and a few annoying brain teaser puzzles to tide us over until Christmas arrives.
