Cats - They’re Everywhere
I just came back to my computer after showering to discover that a cat was in my spot. My parents’ black tuxedo cat Clawd just looked at me and refused to move. She did request that I scratch her ears.
So I sat awkwardly beside her, trying not to disturb her sleep, and Fuzzy comes up beside me and settles down to sleep on my other side. Now normally I get to lie on this couch and write with the laptop in my lap. Now I get to sit up and keep my elbows in so that I don’t disturb the cats. Not to mention my left leg will now get covered in orange furr and my right leg in black.
My own Maine Coon cat Chief is curled up on a dining room chair. This is nice because so far this morning she’s tried to get out every time Fuzzy or Clawd has gone in or out (Chief and Donna are indoor cats), raced through the house when I was sleeping (and a 20-odd lb Maine Coon can make a lot of noise raising through a house) howled because various food bowls were empty, dumped the garbage on the floor in search of her favourite toy (used q-tips) and otherwise been a cat.
Donna is off sleeping on my bed. Also a nice change because normally when I’m trying to work she sits on top of her favourite toy and demands a game. Loudly. Then stares at you till she gets it. Or decides to nap tucked between my chin and the laptop. Donna does not believe that anything counts as an accomplishment in life except making a cat happy.
She also jumped in my tea cup this morning.
So yes, the cat’s are everywhere. I can’t even escape them at Cabots Cove because my parents’ cat Whisp is there, happily begging for the milk from everyone’s cereal bowl. She’s happy to start drinking it before you’re done eating too!
The worst thing? If the cats were to read this rant, they’d just purr, head butt me, and ask for a bellyrub.
